About GeekStack
GeekStack is a one man two man startup from Chicago. The mastermind goal is to create a market for informal education. The first attempt at that goal is to create a collectible trading card game featuring the heroes of science and technology.
The first series of cards will be about Computers. It’s what we know so we can focus on game design and building the site and the business rather than research. When we’re making the next sets, about fields like Math, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Biology, etc, there will be plenty of opportunity to contribute to the content of the game. The cards will feature the history, people, concepts, discoveries, and events in each of these fields. Sports stars receive loads of fame, money, and attention for the entertainment they provide. Why shouldn’t scientific achievements, which have completely transformed our world, receive some of the same?
We’re still developing the site and the game, but we’re hoping to be ready for playtesters in by the end of the year. If you’d like to be included as a playtester, sign up for the email newsletter (in the right column) and watch the blog and Twitter for announcements.

Peter Christensen is a developer and founder of GeekStack. He started programming computers when he was 9, trying to reproduce Nintendo games in Hypercard on the Macintosh at his mom’s school. He’s in charge of developing the game engine, designing the game, and running the business and marketing. He wants his kids to grow up in a world where it’s cool to be smart and love science and learning.
Michael Pavelich is a senior at Illinois State University and cofounder at GeekStack. He’s a voracious consumer of tech and startup podcasts and in charge of creating the website. If you want to play the game instead of just hear Peter talk about it, Michael is your man! He also claims to be a decent artist and musical composer, but he apparently got into computers for the girls. Just like everyone else
